Kristin Greer – PrincipalFor the last 10 years, Kristin J. Greer has worked as a high school principal, assistant principal, mentor teacher, middle school teacher, and college professor in urban schools within Chicago and Brooklyn, NY. Artistically, Kristin is the founder and CEO of Kris Joy Productions and Command Production Company, a performing arts director, and actress.
As an educator, Kristin has dynamically transformed her classrooms through her uncanny, artistic, and captivating skills. With a degree in theatre, Kristin systematically utilized artistic expression to engage all learners, with an emphasis on their significance, to accelerate student achievement. As a classroom teacher, she has dramatically moved her students, labeled as low achievers, to high performers. Kristin has been recognized as a mentor teacher, empowering teachers to cultivate learner success and providing tools to overcome every obstacle presented.
Kristin has served and assisted in leading school’s radical advancement from Needs Improvement to Distinguished rated. Kristin lives as a principal, teacher, mentor, administrator, leader, and life-long learner to illuminate lives and be continuously be enlightened.
Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Western Michigan University, a Master’s degree of Teaching and Learning, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She is also the founder of Excel Leadership Institute: The Instructor’s Stage, and the CEO of Kris Joy Productions and Command Production Company.
Christopher Hazeltine – Director of Curriculum and InstructionChristopher Hazeltine brings with him a wealth of experiences working with children and adults at the middle school, high school, and college level. He has worked with the New York City Public Schools for over 10 years as a teacher, administrator, and consultant. He joins ROADS Brooklyn after recently working as a Community School Director with Johns Hopkins University, overseeing the educational transformation in the NYC DOE renewal schools. His passion for education, his sense of urgency to transform public education, and his understanding that all students can excel academically is what led him to ROADS Brooklyn.
Mr. Hazeltine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from SUNY Oneonta, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from New York University, and is currently all but dissertation (ABD) in his Doctoral program completing his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Teaching and Learning.
Alicia Wilson – Director of Student SupportAlicia Wilson is the Director of Student Support Services at ROADS Charter High School. She started at ROADS as our founding Social Worker where she dedicated her first year to ensuring that over-aged under-credited students received direct support from the counseling department.
In her current role, she is tasked with overseeing the student support team as well as the culture team. Alicia’s career has been highlighted by a commitment to change the lives of young people affected by the criminal justice system with a focus on how to advocate for themselves in a positive way. Prior to ROADS, she held a part-time position for seven years as a Mental Health Clinician at Crossroads Juvenile Detention Center. In this role, Alicia was charged with providing mental health counseling to juveniles and their families. Along side this position for the last twelve years Alicia served as a full-time school counselor to various NYC schools. In this capacity she provided direct counseling services to NYC students, developed and trained school staff on building positive school culture and overseeing social-emotional programs. She also supervised school counselors and social worker interns.
Alicia is currently completing her doctorate at Adelphi University School of Social Work. She holds a MSW from New York University.
Kashani Stokley – Director of OperationsKashani Stokley joined ROADS in 2015 as the Director of Operations with 9 years experience as the Director of Operations for several New York City charter schools.
Mr. Stokley also served as the Center Manger for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions Manhattan Village Center. As the Center Manager, for the largest center in the country whose annual sales were $12 million, Mr. Stokley oversaw the scheduling of all onsite and offsite graduate and pre-college classes, purchasing and facilities while also seeking to improve service delivery and brand recognition of Kaplan’s programs.
For six years, Mr. Stokley served as the Project Director for Youth Action Programs and Homes, where, as part of his role, he directed a $10 million gut rehabilitation project that created 64 units of low-income housing for 120 families.
In 1988, at the age of 12 years old, Mr. Stokley founded K.S. J.A.M.M. Dance Troupe. The troupe’s mission is to provide youth and young adults from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with a means of self-expression and self-development through exceptional dance, choreography and costuming. K.S. J.A.M.M. Dance Troupe specializes in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, African and Hip Hop dance for children 3 years old through Adult.
Mr. Stokley earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from The College of New Rochelle, as well as a graduate certificate from Columbia Business School.
William Tinglin – Dean of StudentsWilliam Tinglin joined ROADS in 2014 and is thrilled to be a part of the team. He is a native New Yorker, and has achieved an Associate Degree from BMCC, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College, and is now pursuing a Master’s Degree. He is civically involved in his community, his church, and is a Youth Mentor. Prior to coming to ROADS, William was a Youth Director at the School News Nationwide organization, a Case Planner & Family Counselor with SCO Family of Services and an Advocate Counselor with the NYC Mission Society at Brownsville Academy High School. William takes joy in knowing that he has the opportunity of educating influencing and empowering others to achieve, and succeed.
Desmond Seymour – Dean of CultureDesmond Seymour is an interdisciplinary scientist and academic enrichment specialist with a passion for leading others, designing educational activities , and enhancing learning environments through non traditional methods. Desmond focuses on setting and reaching eastablished metrics, evaluting critical data, and building cohesive teams. His primary interest are STEM and Game Based Learning methods.
As an alumna of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University with a Bachelors in Political Science and of Georgetown University with a Masters degree in Biotechnology; Desmond has a deep appreciation for diversity and interdisciplinary learning.
